Google’s Net Income Increases 24 Percent
Internet giant, Google, said Thursday that second quarter net profit rose 24 percent from a year ago to 1.84 billion dollars. Company based in Mountain View, Calif., said its revenue also grew 24 percent to 6.82 billion dollars during the quarter ended June 30 compared with a year earlier.
“Google has a strong second quarter,” Chief Executive Eric Schmidt said in a statement, citing “solid growth in our core business and strong growth in our emerging businesses.”
“We saw strength in every major product areas, as more and more advertisers embrace traditional brand and search advertising because advertisers are increasingly running a big campaign to integrate across search, display, and mobile.”
“We are confident about our future, and plan to continue to invest aggressively in our core areas of strategic focus,” said Schmidt was quoted by AFP.
